WELCOME TO ROCK CREEK FINS DIVING!
The Fins Dive Team is a fun and active group of kids who love to dive! Any child of a Rock Creek Pool Equity Member or Waitlist-Summer Swim active account may join the Dive Team if they can swim one length of the pool and tread water for one minute in the deep end. Usually, children aged 6-18 are Dive Team members. The Dive Team welcomes children who have never tried diving before as well as those who have been on the team for years!
Dive League
Rock Creek Pool is in Division I of the Montgomery County Diving League (MCDL). Other pools in our division include Merrimack Park, North Chevy Chase, Manor Woods, North Chevy Chase, and Tanterra.
2026 Season
The dive season begins Wednesday, May 27 and concludes the week of July 19.
Team & Registration Information
Please note that all divers must (a) have full summer swim privileges of Rock Creek Pool; and (b) complete online registration prior to attending a practice.
Registration is $155 per diver for the season. During registration you will also be charged $20 to cover mandatory insurance provided by MCDL. No one can dive without registering. If you would like to try diving for two weeks, you should register and pay in full. If you decide not to continue, notify us by June 13 and we will refund the $155 registration fee less a $15 transaction fees. The insurance fee is non-refundable and has covered your child for the two week trial period.
Practices
The Dive Team practices Monday-Friday during the summer. Each practice is 45-minutes long and will begin Wednesday, May 27.
Until June 17: Daily practice at 5:15pm and 6:15pm, come when you can!
After that, practices will be at 4:15pm, 5:15pm, and 6:15pm. Generally, younger divers go to earlier practices BUT it’s flexible based on your availability.
There may be a few schedule changes based on holidays, swim meets, and coaches availability.
Dive Meets
All divers are welcome to participate in every in every Sunday dive meet. Meets are a fun opportunity for divers to showcase their hard work in a team-spirited atmosphere. All Dive meets begin at 4:00pm. Pre-meet warm up at home starts at 2:30pm; pre-meet warm up for away meets is at 2:00pm at Rock Creek and 3:30pm at the away pool. The meet schedule is available on the Rock Creek Pool calendar and the MCDL website.

MCDL Judge and Referee Training
Summer diving relies on parents to serve as referees and judges. Training is provided and you can shadow a current ref or judge before you work on your own. Judges and referees must renew their certification every three years. Training dates are provided on the MCDL website.
Parent Volunteering
Our season can’t happen without all our terrific parent volunteers! Everything is easy to learn and we’ll train you before you do it!

Sign up to volunteer! Go to the schedule then click on each date to select available jobs. We ask each family to volunteer at least 5 times throughout the summer.
Friday Pasta Parties
Fins swim and dive weekly spirit socials. Dinner starts at 6:30pm. BYOP (or another dish to share). Followed by fun spirit activities with coaches.
